Lagnada : Butuan becoming a vibrant city
“Kini mura nig atong birthday nga dapat gid nato i-celebrate,” said Mayor Ronnie Vicente Lagnada during the celebration of the 66th Adlaw Hong Butuan at Guingona Park, last August 2.
Lagnada, who just recently took oath as Butuan’s new mayor last month, admits that this activity is one of the highlights of his term in envisioning the future of Butuan as a vibrant city.
“Vision jud nato nga mahimo ang Butuan nga usa ka vibrant city, ang pasabot anang vibrant city dili lang in terms of economy but sa environment usab,” he said, adding that the city now needs more attention as it is in a “state of calamity.”
Even during his campaign, he already bannered "Bangon Butuan” and “Lagsik na dakbayan” as he said that he truly aims for visible and evident changes in the City.
Sharing his future plans for Butuan, Lagnada said, "naa jud tay change of management, sa akong pag-ingkod karon murag wala juy control. So daghay buhatong bag-o ang inyong mayor. Maskin kulang ang facility maningkamot mi para ani."
Despite all the issues thrown to him and his team, the mayor said he still endeavors to pursue his plans.
Various activities such as the Abayan Festival, singing contest, poster making, essay writing, street dancing, cheerdance competition, drum and lyre competition and many more have been conducted by the city government in partnership with private organizations.
“Enjoy lang mo, maskin two weeks ra among preparation. Pero promise sunod tuig mas malingaw mo,” Lagnada quipped.
