TESDA offer skills training to drug pusher, users

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is extending its assistance to drug pushers and users by providing them with skills training after their release from prison. TESDA Secretary Atty. Guiling Mamondiong emphasized the need for an alternative means of livelihood for inmates in order to help them have a second chance in life. TESDA will take the lead in this endeavor. "In cooperation with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), I will task all Regional and Provincial Directors of TESDA to coordinate with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and DILG to put this activity in motion," Mamondiong stated.

As of last week, more than 65,000 users and pushers have already surrendered to the authorities nationwide since the campaign against illegal drugs was launched.
