Former PNP Member Killed in Anti-Illegal Drug Operation

A man named Rex Ofianga, a former PNP member was killed during the anti-illegal drug operation of Butuan City Police Station 3 in Brgy. Ambago, Butuan City last August 11.
Operatives were about to serve the search warrant to Ofianga when the ex-cop suddenly drew his caliber .38 pistol and threatened the operatives to shoot them.
On the said operation, the police also arrested Orlando Gingoyon, 31; Rodolfo Gilsano, 44; Silvestre Batolanon, 43; and Jessie Balane, 35.
Caliber .38 pistol, drug paraphernalia, hand grenade, and 2 grams of shabu with street value of Php 23,600.00 were confiscated.
Chief Supt. Rolando Felix, Police Regional Office 13 Director said that the successful operation was attributed to the surveillance of the operatives and the cooperation of the community.
