Safe release of the 4 abducted police in Caraga

Officials of the regional command of Northeastern Mindanao Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) and even field units were in jubilant mood following the release of the abducted four police officers and non-uniformed personnel (NUP) on August 27-28 in Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur.

Police regional command of PRO 13 also lauded the crisis committee and third-party facilitator for properly handling the peace and release negotiation for their safe passage from the custodial force of the New People’s Army (NPA), armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines.

Police personnel assigned in Malimono Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Malimono town, Surigao del Norte who were released in Surigao City on Saturday were SPO3 Santiago B. Lamanilao, PO3 Jayroll H. Bagayas, PO2 Caleb C. Sinaca and NUP Rodrigo T. Angub while PO1 Richard V. Yu, Jr. of Carmen MPS, in Carmen, Surigao del Sur was also released on Friday.

In a statement, Chief Supt. Rolando B. Felix, regional director of PRO 13 said the release of the police personnel and NUP made the rank-in-file of the command and the families of the victims to be in joyous mood.
