Teenager abducted, raped inside car

A 16-year-old girl from San Vicente, Butuan City was allegedly abducted and raped inside a car on Friday, August 26.

According to the police, the victim, together with a friend, was walking along the Diversion Road late Thursday evening when a car stopped near them.

The driver, identified as Gin Villareal, 26, allegedly pretended to ask for directions. Villareal then offered the victim and her friend a ride since they were heading on the same direction. The victim and her friend were surprised though when they discovered that Villareal was not alone.

Another man, identified as Paul Acaac, was inside the vehicle that was later on identified by the police as Isuzu Crosswind with plate number FGA494.

After a few minutes, Villareal told them that the car had a mechanical problem prompting him to stop the vehicle. Acaac asked the victim’s friend to alight from the vehicle so they can check the defect.

Seconds after, Acaac went back inside the car while Villareal sped off leaving the victim’s friend on the road.

The 15-year-old victim claimed she was blindfolded inside the car, stripped naked and her head tied to the vehicle’s headrest with her own shirt.

One of the suspects allegedly punched her as she struggled to get free. Despite her resistance, she said Villareal succeeded in raping her. The teenager was not able to identify the place of the incident because it was dark.

On the other hand, the victim’s friend reported the alleged abduction to the Police Regional Office 13 Libertad, Butuan City (Libertad Police Station) after she was left behind. Police from Libertad were able to find both suspects at their residence.

Acaac was arrested but Villareal escaped through the kitchen when his mother, identified as Glenda Villareal, requested the authorities to let her son change clothes first.

Acaac was taken to the Police Station near Libertad where he was positively identified by the victim's friend. Mrs. Villareal, on the other hand, was charged with obstruction of justice. The manhunt for Gin Villareal is still under way.
