Security in Caraga Tightened after Davao Explosion

A huge explosion rocked the Night Market in Davao City that claimed the lives of 14 people and left more than 60 others injured on September 2, 2016 Friday night at about 10:00PM.
Police in Caraga are on full alert while precautionary and safety measures are in place to thwart possible terrorists’ atrocities.
Caraga PNP Regional Director Chief Supt Rolando Felix, ordered the police force to intensify security measures in the region, the conduct of more patrol operations, a 24-hour checkpoints and strict monitoring of entry and exit points.
Increased police visibility will also be implemented in public areas and places of convergence like airports, terminals, markets and seaports. Bomb-sniffing or K9 dogs will also be deployed by the police.
Chief Supt Felix urges the populace to be more vigilant and to report to the police suspicious persons or packages left in public areas.
